Oooooo0oo - nice. Congratulations for trading your monkey in for a better model!
I miss you!
Indeedy, a much finer monkey to have on my back!
I miss you too! Wasn't there an LA trip for you somewhen? We're planning to be in PDX in August sometime...
I was in San Diego last October and planned to drive to see you, but the smoke from the wildfires messed with my allergies/asthma so badly that I returned home early instead. Debating attending the same conference in October. Would love to see you during your Pdx visit if you have time!
You going to Burning Man this year? Several friends are really pushing me to go, so I'm considering.
I'm being pushed to go as well...and in my mind where I can accomplish everything I want without regard to traditional space and time as well as financial limitations, I'll go. Realistically not so much. I'll give you a heads up when we come up thataway!
i must see this thing you've had done!
i'm guessing the leaves at the end of that branch the monkey's holding hurt a wee bit...
Yup, especially after he added color and shading. Plus the feet and the tail sucked.

Re: so bloody!
i remember with one of mine that the closer it got to the armpit, the more it went from "this hurts annoyingly" to "fuck i wish this would end!"
and none of mine are nearly that big (or shaded)!
Going from this:
Is where the difference is at...
There was a moment that I cursed the existence of pigment of any kind existing on any leaf whatsoever. And potentially cursing the ambulatory nature of monkeys. Who said they need feet?
I guess I could have been in the South Pacific and being worked on by these though:

set the pain amplifier to 11
eeesh! if someone came at me with that, i'd expect them to be wearing a hockey mask!
much better than the (extremely) old school apparatus, tho... at least the multi-needles don't usually kill a certain number of folks, from time to time.
Thanks! I think he did a great job.
I've quit everything. Does this mean I need a herd of monkeys on my back too? (And congrats!)
Thanks! I believe you may need a barrel, exploding with legions of monkeys clambering all over your back.
I am SOOOOO proud of you. With all the freaky health stuff i've had this past week, I will never look at smoking the same. I quit back in October, and, to be honest, i think about it a lot still. It's really hard. But you're strong. And you have a MUCH better looking monkey now to contend with on your back. Obviously, I love your choice of ink, and (i'm certain) the multiple meanings you have put into it.
Fill your lungs with sweet goodness. Food will start tasting better soon. Be grateful for every deep breath you get to enjoy.
that is absolutely awesome!
Thanks! He did a great job!
I think that Monkey is the coolest fukn tatoo I've seen in atleast a very very long time. I found myself saying "I want one" as I inspected the photos, then I scrooled down to the multi-needles, and remember my phobia (which I've largely concord, but still!!!). Congrats on the quiting smoking, I'm not near doing that again, atleast not yet.
Thanks! It was definitely time to quit...I was feeling it for sure...
